In the Shadow of Taj
Description
We all know the story of the Taj Mahal. It’s about a young man who fell in love with a beautiful and virtuous girl. He married her and called her Mumtaz Mahal, the jewel of the palace. But she died prematurely from childbirth, and it broke his heart. He then ordered the construction of the Taj Mahal to honor the love of his life, making it perhaps the world’s greatest monument of love and one of the Seven ‘’New’’ Wonders of the World. But today, the city that houses this iconic beauty is filled with ugly realities. This documentary reveals those often-untold stories of nauseating pollution, rampant poverty, frustrated artisans, and threats of terrorism looming large that surround this most illustrious abode.
