The Company. Inigo and His Jesuits
Description
Hosted by the distinguished actor Cyril Cusack, this film examines the life and legacy of Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus and one of the most influential reformers of the Christian Church. Rarely has any other single group influenced the modern world (secular as well as spiritual) as the Jesuits. Suppressed and dissolved by the Pope in 1773, they were saved by Catherine the Great. The Society of Jesus later became one of the most powerful organizations in the history of Christianity. Filmed on location in England, France, Italy, Spain, and the U.S., it is a visually moving mosaic of the locations and events that influenced the story of Ignatius and his followers from the early years to the present.
