In A FONDO 1981, María Casares (1922-1997) presents her memoir, Privileged Resident, and states: "there is nothing stronger than the things that you want to bury." The great actress, daughter of Casares Quiroga, who had been living in exile since the age of thirteen, had returned to Spain in 1976 to interpret El adefesio by Rafael Alberti, "I think that when one is exiled once, it is forever. I became French before returning to Spain. With sympathy and sensitivity, she reveals the keys to her personal and professional career, along with Sartre, Cocteau, Bresson, Gérard Philippe, Jean Vilar and especially with Albert Camus: "it was a continuation of my father, and also an educator."
