Gonzalo Torrente Ballester. A Fondo—In Their Own Words
Description
Gonzalo Torrente Ballester (1910-1999) has just obtained with La saga/fugua de J. B. (1972) a medium success. "Great if it is compared with the absolute ignorance, prior to the publication, of this novel, since for him they deserved to have taken into account his favorite works: Don Juan, and also Los gozos y las sombras (The joys and the shadows)." He attributes his style to the fact that "we think of Galician and adapt the Castilian to the rhythm of the Galician, and it sounds different, it sounds better."
