Description
In this episode of The Story of God, Morgan Freeman traverses the globe to ask: Where did we come from, and what happened "in the beginning?" Humanity's first question remains one of its most intensely debated. For many believers, it is impossible to understand who and what we are without first understanding how we got here...and who (or what) is behind it. Were we created in the image of God, or are we the result of a 13.8 million year old singularity? Morgan meets with papal representatives at the Vatican and Islamic scholars in Cairo. He visits Hindu philosophers in India and archaeologists digging up the ancient Mayan past in the rain forests of Central America. He takes part in sacred Navajo rituals in New Mexico and goes looking for clues to the Garden of Eden in Jerusalem. And in Turkey, Morgan investigates the ancient cities of Çatalhöyük and Gobekli Tepe, where civilization itself first arose.
