Post-War Music. After the Wake
Description
This program turns its attention to music's response to war, and how the Second World War changed musical thinking forever. The musical legacy of composers dominant in the first part of the century is compared with post-war composers who were determined to create a new music for a changed Europe. We see how Stravinsky used the new techniques of these composers to create new music, while maintaining the distinctive wit and beauty of his original musical style.
