Substance misuse
Description
Seductive and "intriguing" are two words that describe the effects of a wide range of dangerous substances. So are "addictive" and "lethal." This program examines some of the most commonly abused substances, explaining their effects and the problems they can cause. The substances covered include stimulants (MDMA, cocaine, amphetamines, nicotine, and caffeine), depressants (barbiturates, benzodiazepines, alcohol, and solvents); hallucinogens (LSD, cannabis, and "magic mushrooms"); and opiates (heroin and morphine)
