This program was designed to help viewers understand the commitment and everyday sacrifice of Americans during the Revolutionary War. To show the daily routine of the common soldier, an entire Continental Army camp was recreated and 250 soldiers-all authentically dressed and equipped-were recruited from several of the nation's leading military reenactment groups. Historian Burt Kummerow walks across the camp and among the soldiers to explain the background and the purpose of camp activities.
