Mission critical. Cervical disc prosthesis
Description
Degenerative disc disease is a debilitating condition that causes pain, neurological symptoms and often times greatly affects the patient’s quality of life. By the age of fifty, 85 percent of the population will show evidence of disc degeneration. Since the 1960’s the surgical answer for many patients has been disc fusion. However, the FDA has recently approved the first and only cervical disc prosthesis in the United States approved to treat both one and two levels of the cervical spine.
