Stitchless surgery to keep a child's heart beating
Description
March 30 -- Researchers at MIT's Karp Laboratories are developing a new kind of surgical adhesive gel. Strong enough to work inside a beating heart, the gel can quickly seal and bond tissues working with the body's natural healing process to form a permanent fix without sutures or staples. Bloomberg's Sam Grobat goes to MIT to find about this new breakthrough. (Video by Brandon Lisy, Justin Beach) (Music by Andy Clausen).
