Max becoming Max

Description

This is a story about a special needs 12-year-old and some of the remarkable people who helped him get to a very good place in his life. Max Blackwin seems like any grade-sixer, but unlike the other kids, he has already faced more challenges, and won more personal victories, than most of them will see in a lifetime. Our film follows Max in and around his new school in New Hampshire, where just six months in, he was improving in every class, excelling at every sport. And along his way, bringing a smile to every face. This is an intimate family portrait, complete with twists and turns and a happy ending. It says a lot, too, about integrated learning, and what we all stand to lose if programs like this are reduced or eliminated. It is indeed a joy to behold but it's also a cautionary tale – and timelier than ever.
