Description
The flow of the Kumar river starts from Faridpur region of our country, where there is activeness among the fishermen, sides, direction and coverage, and then a baul song on the Padma river. The types of fish once available in the Kumar river. The catching of fish by the fishermen, the obstacles to their effective catching and the present situation. A few ethnic families, notably the Bindu, Bagdi, Malo, whose abode and means of living are around the Kumar river can be found. The contribution of the Kumar river to the plantation of the Faridpur district, notably in that of the jute with which the farmers are disheartened. By the banks of the Kumar river, in the Ambikapur region of Faridpur is the residence of the rural poet Jasimuddin, and the shore of his best composition, the Shojon Badia. The historically and culturally significant boat race in the area of Bhanga, after a long gap there was a boat race in 2010. At a particular time of the year the Kumar is significantly dried up, a few old unorganized activities surrounding the river, then the present. Finally, at particular time of the year the Kumar river returns with shallow undeterred flow of tide.
