60 minutes. Deepwater

Description

After 9/11, the U.S. Coast Guard was tasked with defending 95,000 miles of shoreline and 361 ports from terrorists, but its antiquated fleet of boats was not up to the job. So the Coast Guard undertook a $24 billion modernization program called Deepwater, and it has been a fiasco. Five years into the program, not one boat has been successfully delivered. Deepwater has been so mismanaged that the U.S. Justice Department is investigating. Steve Kroft reports.
