Medics. Episode 11
Description
On today's programme, Southampton doctor Rob Dawes's shift throws up some unexpected challenges. A baby has suspected meningitis, and Rob races to the scene, fearing the worst. He's aware that meningitis can kill in less than four hours. The next call is to a serious DIY accident. A man has been working with an angle grinder tool and the blade has slipped and cut into his head. He's bleeding heavily and Rob needs to find the nicked artery before the patient loses much more blood. And finally, he attends to a woman who's collapsed while out shopping. She's diabetic and her blood sugar levels are low, so Rob needs to urgently raise them.
