National parks and monuments series. The grand circle. Canyon spirits
Description
The American West is blessed with a beautiful, vast region called the Grand Circle, which encompasses portions of five states - Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Nevada - and includes the largest concentration of national parks and monuments found in the country. This fascinating documentary, filmed on land and air by expert cinematographer Greg Hensley, captures the spiritual feeling one gets when exploring the iconic canyons of this area. We travel the Colorado River and first explore the Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park; we see spectacular dome formations of sandstone in Capital Reef National Park and majestic rock spires in Bryce Canyon National Park; view three-thousand foot cliffs in Zion National Park; discover wildlife and the incredible Thunder Springs in the Grand Canyon; visit iconic Monument Valley; learn of the ancient Anasazi people and the modern day Hopi; and marvel at the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell, named for the famous explorer John Wesley Powell.
