Race for the North Pole
Description
It is no longer a secret that the Arctic holds great mineral resources, from oil to natural gas to gold and diamonds. Each nation whose borders touch the Far North wants their share of the pie. This is why Russia, Norway, Denmark, the United States and Canada have undertaken in the course of recent years to establish the limits of their continental plate, that part of their territory submerged under water, in order to be able to assert the exploitation of the natural resources hidden below.
