Burgled
Description
Filmed on the streets of Gateshead, investigates the burglary business, talking to police, victims and the robbers. Subjects include a 15 year-old boy well known to the Gateshead police as a car thief and burglar, and Gladys Smith, an 80 year-old Alzheimer sufferer who was burgled by a man posing as a council officer. The programme includes footage of a police stake-out in which the police watch a street they believe is a haven for the area's most prolific house-breakers.
