Description
A British family is still mourning the daughter who died in suspicious circumstances in Istanbul in 1995. Her Turkish lover has been charged with murdering her by the Turkish Courts. Yet he is still living freely in Britain, granted asylum on the grounds that he would suffer for his politics if he returned home. What does his story tell us about relations between the EU and the biggest of the nations applying to join the club? And what does it mean for the freedom to seek asylum?
