Pirates of the Whydah
Description
Pirates of Whydah joins treasure hunter Barry Clifford in his excavation of the wrecked pirate ship Whydah. The Whydah, returning from a successful pirate scourge of the lucrative triangle trade route, sank in fierce winds off the coast of Cape Cod in April 1717. Clifford's discovery of 100,000 artifacts, including coins, armaments and clothing has shed significant light on the institution and culture of piracy as well as indicating the ethnic diversity there was on the ship.
