In East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), millions of Hindu families were forced to choose between living under Islamic rule, or abandoning the land, which their ancestors had been living in for centuries. Together with his daughter, Minoti and his sister, Anuprava Devi, they continue to live in their hometown of Narail, by their beloved River Chitra.
