Aries is the code of living in Heaven, until one day the passion comes and forbidden fruits fall to the earth. So begins Aries by talented experimental filmmaker Faozan Rizal. This visually arresting work is set against the backdrop of Java's stunning natural beauty. Oscillating between the stark landscape of Cerebon in West Java, and the verdant lushness of Wanagama Forest, Aries is a meditation on the varying expressions of love--at once passionate and anguished--between a man and a woman. Despite at times occupying the same physical space, the protagonists each indulge in the privacy of their separate inner-worlds.
