Description
Car manufacturer Volvo has a long-standing reputation for building some of the safest cars on the market. Their traffic accident research team have been working for decades to come up with ways to ensure that Volvo drivers can prevent accidents using collusion avoidance technology. The Ecotricity Green Bird and its driver, Richard Jenkins, had the perfect conditions to break a world wind power speed record in the Nevada desert. It reached 200km per hour, breaking the record and at the same time, challenging preconceived notions about wind power. Scientists at East Malling Research have been working with the Artemisinan plant to isolate and extract its anti-malaria properties for use in modern medicine.
