Using progressive disclosure problem-based learning in athletic training education
Description
Athletic training professional preparation has undergone tremendous change over the past two decades including the publication of the 4th edition of the Athletic Training Educational Competencies. The 4th edition offers a review of cognitive and psychomotor competencies, along with newly revised comprehensive clinical proficiencies that combine the analysis and synthesis of information with the application of clinical skills in patient-care situations. The clinical proficiencies are designed to prepare future athletic trainers to critically think in a variety of employment settings and ultimately be able to effectively manage patient care situations. Using Progressive Disclosure Problem-Based Learning in Athletic Training Education features a discussion on the process of implementing problem-based learning (PBL) in the classroom. The DVD reviews how PBL can be used to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
