The dose-response issue in exercise prescription
Description
The DVD features Dr. William Haskell's keynote presentation from the 1999 ACSM Health & Fitness Summit & Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the DVD, Dr. Haskell provides an update on the scientific basis for the recently published guidelines for performing exercise to improve health. The Dose-Response Issue in Exercise Prescription reviews the guidelines by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Institutes of Health, and the American College of Sports Medicine--all of which have recommended that an individual's goal should be to perform moderate-intensity exercise for 30 minutes or more on most days.
