Vets on the wild side. Episode 9
Description
The most efficient way to control ticks on cattle is to let Oxpeckers do it. It's not so much the tick that attracts the birds - but the blood on which the tick has gorged. Their razor sharp bills are ideal for this, and ranchers are now paying 100 US dollars for imported oxpeckers. What's more, with oxpeckers to do this clean up work, the rancher doesn't face the expense and bother of dipping cattle.
