Description
In order to fight conscription into the French colonial army during World War II, Nguyen Khac Ham became part of a working class movement to spread propaganda against the government. He recounts his involvement with giving out revolutionary handbills and his subsequent arrest and brutal treatment at the hands of his captors before he was exiled to a harsh prison in Ban Me Thuot. He explains at length the prison conditions.
