Literacy - the whole story. Parents. KS1. 4
Description
The challenge of teaching literacy to children at Malorees Infants where 61% of the children learn English as an Additional Language, shot in an observational style and featuring parent volunteers supporting reading and writing both at home and in school. The school has created a strong partnership with its parents and as a small school relies on their support, providing them with individualised training and an annual reading meeting explaining the school's reading strategies. Parents form an important part of the school community, funding Arts Week, the culmination of its cross-curricular Literacy projects. The programme will be useful for parents and all teaching staff.
