Description
She may be the specialist music teacher but, just like primary teachers across the country, Maggie Foster at Woolacombe School in North Devon needs to be knowledgeable about many subjects and finds herself teaching Rivers to a Year 5 & 6 class. Passionate about the benefits of 'hands on learning' Maggie organises 2 days of Geography fieldwork based around the stream that flows through the village. On Day 1 the whole class, armed with maps, walk the lower section and on day 2 one team undertake an erosion experiment, whilst two further teams embark on a quest to find the Northern and Eastern sources of their stream.
