Wild Africa goes hi-tech
Description
Africa is home to some of the world's best known animals, as well as being where humanity began its extraordinary ascendancy, bringing us increasingly into conflict with the animal kingdom. Wild Africa Goes Hi-tech is a six-part series which offers new insights into the unique co-operative ventures that are creating new resolutions to longstanding problems in the world's most fascinating continent. Controversial and enlightening, the series introduces some of the initiatives now under way in Africa to develop and use technology to build new bridges with the animal world -- bridges that can be crossed in both directions, allowing each to help the other in unprecedented ways. We see at first hand the efforts of individuals who are determined not only to monitor and restore the health of Africa's wild animals, but also to provide some insurance for the future and to avert mass extinction of these species.
