Description
This special school (71 students with moderate and additional learning difficulties) is bursting with health in so many ways. The school has embraced the Healthy Schools Initiative with a passion and children are encouraged to think about food - how to grow it, cook it and buy it. The school has introduced schemes including: a thriving Breakfast Club - a big bonus for parents of children with learning difficulties - children are given opportunities to take part in play, sport and dancing - artwork is a big part of school life with a view to improving the emotional well being of the pupils - 'Thought for the day' - a moment when children are encouraged to ponder moral, political and ethical questions.
