Description
Former salesman Stuart Tatterton now teaches maths at King James's school in North Yorkshire. This programme charts his progress over the course of his first term of teaching and takes a detailed look at how Stuart is tackling time management.Stuart is enthusiastic about teaching and the autumn term gets off to a good start. Despite having a reduced timetable as a newly qualified teacher, he still teaches 19 lessons a week, compared to the 11 lessons a week he had during his teaching practice. With marking, lesson planning and break-time duties to contend with in addition to his classroom teaching, the increased workload soon begins to take its toll. Fortunately Stuart's induction tutor and his deputy headteacher are on hand to offer him some tips on how to improve his time management both inside and outside of school.
