Secondary staying healthy
Description
The Parents Guide explores what is going on in schools today and discusses some of the key issues from a parent's point of view. In this programme, presenter Fiona Millar and two parents, Lesley King and Alison Wood, join together with education consultant Meg Martin to discuss health and well-being in secondary schools. They look at some Teachers TV programmes and see how the issue of staying healthy is being addressed by teachers, pupils and, of course, parents. How can girls be encouraged to continue with PE and sports? Is healthy eating rightly the concern of schools? How are schools dealing with sex and relationships education? What about drugs? Where does the duty of care lie and how can schools and parents work together? Listen to the views of parents, gain an insight into what other schools are doing and then join the debate by emailing: parents@teachers.tv.
