Airbus' double-decker jet, the A380, is the largest passenger airliner ever built Lengthwise, it would nearly stretch from goal line to goal line of a football field. In a one-class tourist class configuration, it could accommodate more than 800 passengers. As tall as an eight-storey building, the plane weighs as much as 120 grown up elephants and dwarfs the 747 jumbo jets, with 50 per cent more floor space.
