Description
Looks at the decision of Australia's BHP to quit its involvement in the giant gold and copper OK Tedi mine. Since its inception, the mine has caused environmental damage to the OK Tedi and Fly river systems and has impacted on villagers' livelihoods, but at the same time providing the PNG government with up to 20% of its foreign income. Examines how the government will resolve the conflict of employment and pollution control.
