The test. A death row drama
Description
This film was inspired by the true story of two African -American men on death row. The younger man, Bradley, is learning to read in prison, coached by Cleveland, who uses the Bible as a primer. Bradley is about to undergo an IQ test. If the test proves he is retarded, his life would be spared. Bradley, who has been humiliated all his life for being "stupid" is tragically conflicted about deliberately failing the test, which would save his life. Didn t his mother always urge him to try his best? Cleveland s desperate attempt to make him "fail" drives the drama. Study Guide is available for this film.
