She talks about villages being destroyed so an agroville could be constructed. The population suffered and life became hard. The civilians began to revolt and demanded that their land be returned to them. In the beginning the uprising was popular and many people would join in order for life to return to normal. Tran Thi Tuyet also recalls that when the agrovilles were dismantled in 1960 a second uprising occurred and people rushed back to gain control of their former homes. Because houses had collapsed atop the bomb shelters there were many people trapped. She and others worked for ""5 or 6"" days just trying to get to those people.
