Meet our student ambassadors
Our TRIO SSS Ambassadors support our program in various ways during the summer from planning engaging activities, gathering data, reaching out to students, creating content, and much more. They also share their personal student experience with incoming first-year students during UWO Titan Takeoff days. TRIO SSS Ambassadors continue to grow and develop their professional and leadership skills through these experiences!
My name is Gia and I’m a senior majoring in Public Relations and Advertising. I also have three minors in African American Studies, Media Studies, and Journalism. Some of my interests are games, thrifting, and exploring. I love national parks, and I’ve visited the Badlands, Kings Canyon, Yosemite, and Sequoia. In the future, I would love to work as a communications specialist with National Parks because I love working in a space where I can advocate for others.
This summer, I am excited to meet incoming students and make them feel excited to come to UWO!
My name is Pa Nhia Thao. For the upcoming fall semester, I will be a senior majoring in Economics with a minor in Japanese and certificate in Business Analytics. In the future, I would like to gain more real-world experience in corporate and business settings. I also see myself getting my master’s after I’ve gained more professional experience and have a better understanding of my interests. On the side, I would like to incorporate traveling wherever possible. When I have free time, I enjoy going on walks, watching movies, cooking, and sometimes doing arts and crafts.
This summer, I am looking forward to developing my interpersonal skills as I meet and interact with incoming students and hope I will be able to assist in any way possible.
Hi! My name is Sammy. I’m a Radio TV Film major with two different certificates in Human Service Leadership and Professional Communications. After graduation, I hope to work at a non-profit or work more with my industry in producing news or filmmaking. In my free time, I love building any Lego set that I can get my hands on, watching new movies/tv shows, travelling, doing some sort of arts & crafts, and hanging out with my friends.
As a TRIO SSS Ambassador this summer, I’m most excited to make connections with the incoming students and be surrounded by all the amazing people in our office!
Hello! My name is Carli. I am a fourth-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. My major is Psychology, and my minor is Social Justice. I am also pursuing a certificate in Human Services Leadership. I plan on becoming a professional counselor and helping as many people as I can. When I am not studying, I enjoy watching movies, crafting, kayaking, playing card games with my friends, and spending time with my nephew.
This summer, as a TRIO SSS Ambassador, I look forward to building connections with students and explaining the many reasons why TRIO SSS is amazing.
