The TRIO SSS First Year Experience (FYE)
Our FYE Leaders assist first-year students in making the successful transition to college through academic skills building, integration to campus, leadership development, service learning, and related social events. Two upper-class TRIO SSS/SSS STEM students serve as the leaders for each weekly group. The FYE Group sessions take place in Dempsey Hall every week.
FYE is a required component of TRIO SSS and opens to door to plenty of benefits, including our first year scholarship!

Meet the Leaders
I am a 2nd-year student at UWO majoring in Political Science and minoring in African American Studies. In the future, I hope to attend graduate school for law or a related field.
During my free time, I enjoy listening to different types of music and playing games. As an FYE Leader, I’m looking forward to meeting new people, making new friends, and getting to know everyone in the group!

I am a 2nd year student at UWO, majoring in RTF and minoring in Music Industry. I want to become a producer/cinematographer working on movies and TV shows.
I enjoy traveling in my free time because I get to see something new every time. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!
I am a 2nd year student at UWO, Majoring in RTF and working towards a minor in multi-media journalism. I want to write and direct movies or work for a professional wrestling company.
I love watching and collecting movies (DVD and VHS) as well as training to become a professional wrestler. I am looking forward to meeting everyone in my FYE group and working with my co-leader on projects
I am a 2nd year student at UWO, majoring in Elementary Education and earning a certificate in Deaf culture with a possible certificate in Chicano/Latinx studies. I really want to teach K-3rd grade either staying in Wisconsin or possibly Seattle.
I love reading, cooking, and watching Harry Potter reruns. I can’t wait to meet and get to know all my FYE group!
I am a 2nd year student at UWO majoring in Secondary Education emphasizing in Social Sciences. I want to be a high school teacher when I graduate.

I am a 3rd year student, majoring in Special Education. I want to be a kindergarten teacher when I graduate.
In my free time, I like to read and watch shows/movies. I am looking forward to getting to know the incoming freshman and guiding them through college.
I am a 2nd year student, double majoring in biomedical science and microbiology. I am also minoring in chemistry and health, humanities, and society. In the future, I really want to go to medical school and become a pathologist!
In my free time, I love to hang out with friends, read, and play tennis. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone in my FYE group and becoming someone they feel comfortable coming to for questions or help!
I am a 3rd-year student, majoring in Elementary Education. I’m minoring in Anthropology and French. I really want to teach in a 1st-3rd grade classroom, ideally, and possibly teach French!
I like to hang out with friends in my spare time and go on random adventures. I’m looking forward to getting to know all the first-years and be a person they can look up to!
Heyo, I’m Trent – a third year graphic design major at UWO. This is my second year as a TRIO SSS First Year Experience Leader. My favorite animals are moths. I am looking forward to meeting students.
