Join TRIO Student Support Services
TRIO SSS is a federally funded program that supports first-generation and limited income students in achieving their undergraduate degree. Students with documented disabilities may also be eligible for services.
TRIO SSS is an application-based program with limited availability that serves students during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Students are eligible to apply for TRIO SSS/SSS STEM if they meet the following requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident Status
- Admitted and enrolled at UW-Oshkosh
- Qualify for federal financial aid and have a current FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file
- Meet one or both of the following:

- First-Generation: neither parent or guardian has received a bachelor’s degree in the U.S.

- Limited Income: family and/or student is income eligible as defined by federal guidelines

The UW Oshkosh SSS/SSS STEM programs are 100% funded through TRIO grants from the U.S. Department of Education. The award numbers are P042A200162 and P042A200357 at an estimated $3.6 million for the 2020 to 2025 program years.
