Schedule appointments in ATS

10:00 a.m- 5:30 p.m, M - F

Visit us in the Kolf Sports Center, room 169, or call  (920) 424-7142 to contact us. This facility is open from mid August until the end of May, and is closed during both June and July. Athletes are to schedule appointments through ATS, in order to work with an athletic trainer. Standard operating hours are 10:00 a.m – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinic is open on the weekends and during holiday breaks according to team event and practice schedules.

The Titan Stadium athletic training facility is open according to football, women’s soccer, baseball and softball practices and events. Please call the main facility at (920) 424-7142 to confirm open hours.

Dr. Patrick McKenzie
Team Orthopedic Physician

Dr. Patrick McKenzie is an Oshkosh native and has served as orthopedic physician for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh since 1995. Dr. McKenzie is part of Bellin Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay. He also serves as Medical Director and Team Orthopedic Surgeon for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers.

Dr. McKenzie specializes in orthopedics and arthroscopic surgery. He received an undergraduate degree from St. John’s University, Minn., a Medical Degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his Fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Ala.. Dr. McKenzie and his family reside in DePere, WI.

Dr. Matthew Downs
Medical Director/Team Physician

Dr. Matthew Downs is a Board-Certified pediatrician who has been working with the University of Wisconsin  Oshkosh since 2014 as Medical Director and is a physician at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh.  Dr. Downs covers all Titan Football games and other championship events hosted by UW Oshkosh. Dr.Downs received his Medical Degree from Marshall University School of Medicine and completed his Residency at Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center – Pediatrics. Dr. Downs and his family reside in Oshkosh.

Wade Peitersen joined UW Oshkosh in August 1999 after serving as Assistant Athletic Trainer at UW Stevens Point for two years. Prior to his tenure at Stevens Point, Peitersen was the Director of Training and Conditioning at Peak Performance Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine in Oshkosh from 1995–97.

Peitersen completed his BSE in physical education at UW Oshkosh and his MA in Physical Education/Athletic Training at Western Michigan University. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the College Athletic Trainer’s Society. Peitersen and his family reside in Neenah.

Jennifer Zuberbier joined the UW Oshkosh staff in August 2007 after serving five years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at St. Norbert College in De Pere. While at St. Norbert, she was responsible for covering football, soccer, basketball and baseball.

Zuberbier completed her BS in Athletic Training from UW Stevens Point and her MS in Educational Leadership from UW Oshkosh. She is also a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Zuberbier resides Appleton.

Jack Johnsen joined the UW Oshkosh staff in August 2004 after serving five years as Head Athletic Trainer at Carthage College in Kenosha. Johnsen completed his BSE in Physical Education at UW Oshkosh and his MA in Physical Education/Athletic Training at Western Michigan University.

Johnsen is a certified member of both National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Johnsen resides with his family in Oshkosh.
