Over the past 30 years, Dr. Nari Kim has designed and researched innovative learning technology solutions for international organizations, including Samsung, Daewoo, Woongjin, Indiana University, and Seoul National University. Her research has focused on enhancing critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-based learning with scaffolding in online learning environments across institutions in the United States and South Korea. Her current research agenda includes: (1) developing instructional strategies and assessment frameworks for embedding Artificial Intelligence (AI) within instructional design practices; (2) fostering critical thinking and problem-solving in AI-enhanced authentic learning environments; and (3) preparing educational leaders with AI-driven pedagogy. Dr. Kim is the recipient of the EAA/CR Meyer Endowed Professorship at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. She has served as International Conference Planner for both the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) and the Korean Society for Educational Technology (KSET). She also founded and chaired the Instructional Design Special Interest Group (SIG) at the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) and currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of the SITE eBook, AI for, with, and by Instructional Design.
