Online Doctor of Education: Educational Leadership and Policy
Ed.D. and Superintendency Licensure (03 District Administrator License)
This fully online program offers coursework that leads to both an Ed.D. and Superintendency Licensure. Building on over 150 years of tradition in teacher education, UWO’s Ed.D. program produces excellent administrators and leaders in PK-12 education.
The degree features:

- Coursework devoted to the development of school leaders with the knowledge and skills to affect change in their communities.
Courses
The 48-credit degree is designed to be completed in 3 years. Students typically take 2 courses each Fall, Spring, and Summer. The courses fall into 4 categories:
- Foundational courses in the study of education leadership (12 credits)
- Courses on leadership skills distinct to PK-12 administrative positions (18 credits)
- Field experiences in education leadership (6 credits)
- Courses related to researching and writing skills, culminating in a dissertation with immediate and practical application (12 credits).
Admission Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin teaching license
- Master’s degree in an education field
- Wisconsin Administrative Licensure for PK-12 Principal (51)
- Minimum of 3 years successful experience as an administrator
- Successful completion of a background check
