Initial Interest and Transcript Review
Contact act@uwosh.edu to express interest in the program. Feel free to ask any questions you may have! Then, complete and submit the Transcript Review request form and the required $100 fee to UW–Oshkosh for a transcript review. The transcript review looks at academic records compared to Wisconsin standards for licensure. You will receive the transcript review results; it will list all requirements need (both content coursework and education coursework) to complete the ACT program and necessary to obtain your teaching license(s).

Payment of the $100 can be done through the online payment portal and transcripts can be submitted to act@uwosh.edu. You can choose up to three licenses offered by ACT to be reviewed.

Many people choose to meet (virtually, phone call, et cetera) with the ACT Director at this time to ask any questions and determine if they would like to proceed to applying.

Admission into the ACT program
Criminal Background Check
When you submit your ACT Admission Application, you must also obtain a criminal background check through CastleBranch. This background check needs to be completed before your admission can be processed. [The correct option will be UZ94, the first option under Alternative Careers in Teaching on their website].

Payment
Students can submit the required $1,000 fee to UW–Oshkosh at through the online payment portal.

Application, Resume, and Statement of Teaching
All items can be submitted to act@uwosh.edu. Submit the ACT Admission Application (can be completed electronically or handwritten). Submit an updated resume. Feel free to use these resume resources from UW–Oshkosh, if you’d like. Submit a statement of teaching to act@uwosh.edu. This is typically 1-2 pages (double-spaced) that speaks to your interest in teaching generally, about the grades/subject you’d like to teach, and what skills and strengths you would bring into a school, team, and classroom.

After Submission
After all materials are received, the ACT director will evaluate the admission application. You will be issued a formal acceptance letter to the ACT program if the materials are acceptable.
