SOEHS Fall Fest – October 15

Based on positive student feedback from our Welcome Back Pizza Party, we are planning additional student-focused events to bring students together to build community and have some fun.  On Wednesday, October 15, we will host Fall Fest from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm in Clow N 135. This will be a good opportunity for students to drop in to play games, learn more about scholarships, explore academic support resources and connect with other students. Students who attend will be entered into a drawing to win prizes.

New Academic Success Plan Process

We have created a new Academic Success Plan process to support students who may benefit from additional academic guidance, streamlined communication between advisors and faculty, and a more collaborative structure for intervention planning. This initiative is designed to provide a more personalized and proactive approach to student support and retention.

If you have a student in need of an academic success plan, please contact Melanie Jackson at jacksonm@uwosh.edu. She will begin the process by creating a plan in ELC and uploading it to Navigate. We will connect students with the READ Center as needed for additional academic resources.

Academic Advising: Time to Connect with Your Advisees

Course enrollment for the spring 2026 semester opens for students on October 27th. The School of Education and Human Services will be sending a message to all students reminding them to set up an advising appointment with their advisors. Faculty advisors are encouraged to use Navigate to reach out to advisees to schedule group or individual advising sessions in the next few weeks. After the advising appointment, please complete an appointment summary in Navigate to fulfill HLC advising requirements.

Whether you prefer to meet in person or virtually, please ensure students are aware of their options and deadlines. Your guidance plays a vital role in their academic success and retention.

Important Travel Expense Report Information Related to Credit Card Charges

All P-Card and Travel Corporate Card transactions must be reconciled in Workday using an Expense Report (ER), found under Personal > Expenses Hub. Since there’s currently no University travel funding, mark the ER as a personal expense using these instructions

Using a personal card is optional and may be simpler given the uncertainty around travel funding for tenured faculty. If you use a corporate card, be sure to reconcile within 60 days. If funding becomes available within 90 days of travel, you may still submit an ER for reimbursement. If you have questions, please reach out to Claire Armstrong.
