Titans Are World Changers

Discover a challenging profession and a rewarding and stimulating career in a field that is always changing. Social workers serve on the front lines of community restoration, serving underprivileged and struggling members of the population by intervening in contexts such as child welfare, chemical dependence, aging, corrections, and physical and mental health. Social workers strive every day to improve the lives of their neighbors.

All degrees offered by the UWO Department of Social Work are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). To learn more, view our latest BSW Competency Outcomes and MSW Competency Outcomes.

We’re ready to make a difference in our communities. Are you?

UW Oshkosh Social Work holds a central belief that its curriculum be guided by the principle of doing what is right and just. We teach students to willingly accept the professional responsibility to act as the “heart and conscience” of the profession, and to advocate on behalf of those who suffer discrimination and oppression.

The Department of Social Work at UW Oshkosh offers programs for a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) degrees. Both programs are fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The BSW Program guides and prepares students to engage in generalist practice social work that is focused on strengths and skills, social justice values, critical thinking, and is evidence-based.

The Master of Social Work is a strengths-based graduate education program that prepares students for advanced professional practice and leadership with a commitment to evidence-based knowledge, critical thinking, and social justice values.
