A fraternity is a group of men who are a part of a brotherhood built on shared aspirations, values, and goals that commit to each other for life. These members share common knowledge, efforts and friendship. Fraternities help young men cultivate leadership skills and gain a sense of social identity. Fraternities allow students to meet others through social events, service projects, recruitment events and intramural sports.

RECRUITMENT
Thinking About Joining a Fraternity? Here’s What You Should Know
We get it—joining a fraternity can feel intimidating, especially when you’re not sure what to expect. Maybe your idea of fraternity life comes from over-the-top Hollywood movies or sensational news stories from other campuses. The truth? Those portrayals rarely reflect the real fraternity experience—especially here at UW Oshkosh.
Our fraternity community is built on values that matter: scholarship, service, leadership, and respect for all individuals. The recruitment process is your chance to see who we really are and what we stand for. We strive to be open and transparent with all prospective members and their families and friends, offering a genuine look into what it means to be part of Greek Life at UWO.
Here, it’s not just about joining an organization—it’s about becoming part of something bigger.
