2024 Scholarship Recipients

Willow Garton: George R. Soika Scholarship ($1600)

My name is Wyllow Garton and I am in my third year at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. I am an officer within the Psi Chi organization on campus and have worked with faculty on research regarding working memory in relation to musical and linguistic stimuli. I currently work as an ABA therapist within the Fox Valley and hold the position of Lead Registered Behavior Technician. I am interested in pursuing graduate school after my time here at Oshkosh, but am unsure of exactly what route I want to take.

Kaelynn Schwantz: Michael D. Kogutek Scholarship ($2,000)

I plan to use my psychology degree to pursue a career within the business side of psychology, or Industrial-Organizational Psychology.

Emily Merten: Michael D. Kogutek Scholarship ($2,000)

My name is Emily Merten, and I am a third-year psychology major and neuroscience minor here at UW-Oshkosh. I graduated from Kimberly High School and then went on to get my associate degree at the UW-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus. I currently work as a Behavioral Health Technician at St. Elizabeth Hospital. While I have always been interested in psychology, this position showed me the value of working with those with mental health and substance use disorders. After graduating this fall, I plan to attend graduate school to get a Psy.D. or Ph.D. in clinical psychology.

Lydia Schaefer: Geraldene-Dixon Scholarship ($600)

My name is Lydia Schaefer. I am currently in my third year at UWO working towards a major in Psychology with a minor in Business. I will also have the Behavioral Science and Forensic Investigation certificates when I graduate next spring.
