Students and prospective students should be aware that licensure is not required to work as a Radiologic Technologist in all states. Students who plan to work in the Radiologic Science field are strongly encouraged to contact their state licensing boards to determine what type of certification or licensure may be required in the state in which they plan to work.

Students and prospective students should be aware that certification is not required to work as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in some states, though some individual employers require certification as a condition of employment. States that do require certification can also require licensure, which requires additional step beyond the obtaining of the degree. Students who plan to work in the Medical Technology field are strongly encouraged to contact their state licensing boards to determine what type of certification or licensure may be required in the state in which they plan to work.
