The artists in this exhibition —many celebrated, others less widely known—come from a variety of backgrounds and each has had different experiences navigating inherent biases in the art world. Despite challenges, these women have succeeded in developing their own unique artistic vocabularies. Their voices, as expressed in rich and diverse subject matter, are a hallmark of this exhibition.
