Dear UW Oshkosh Community,
Earlier this afternoon, an incident occurred in the City of Oshkosh near the UW Oshkosh campus. Law enforcement responded promptly, and the individual involved, who is not affiliated with the university as a student or employee, fled onto our campus. After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was quickly apprehended without further incident.
Because of the nature of the response, there was an increased police presence on campus. We want to reassure you that the situation was resolved swiftly and that the safety of our campus community remains our top priority.
We encourage everyone to download and use the UWO Mobile App to report information anonymously, chat in real time with the UW Oshkosh Police Department, and access safety and support resources on campus and in the community.
If you have any information related to this or other incidents, please contact Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at (920) 231-8477 or submit a P3 Tip online at www.winnebagocrimestoppers.org.
